Position Overview
The Document Controller will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining technical documents, drawings, and project records for construction projects. The role ensures that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, properly stored, and easily accessible to project teams, consultants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control project documentation, including technical drawings, contracts, correspondence, reports, submittals, and material approvals.
- Use document management systems (DMS) such as Aconex, Primavera Contract Management, or similar platforms for uploading, tracking, and distributing documents.
- Ensure that all documents comply with project standards, protocols, and quality requirements.
- Maintain the document control register and ensure the timely updating of logs, transmittals, and filing systems.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors to collect and distribute documents.
- Track document revisions and ensure version control to avoid discrepancies.
- Prepare and issue transmittals, RFI logs, NCR logs, and other project documentation as required.
- Archive project records systematically to support audits and handover documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive documentation.
- Support the project team in retrieving documents and providing administrative documentation assistance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in a Document Controller role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of document control systems and DMS platforms (Aconex preferred).
- Familiarity with construction documents, drawings, and technical terminologies.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and data accuracy.
