Position: Drawing Specialist / Inspector

JOB OBJECTIVE
The Drawing Specialist / Inspector is responsible for reviewing, validating, and managing technical drawings and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with authority regulations, free zone standards, and approved engineering design specifications.
The role supports regulatory approvals, technical audits, and construction quality assurance across multiple disciplines including MEP, structural, and fire & life safety systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drawing Specialist
- Review and validate engineering drawings and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with Dubai authority regulations and free zone technical standards.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support design approval workflows and submission documentation.
- Conduct technical checks on architectural, structural, MEP, and FLS drawings.
- Maintain technical records and approval tracking systems.
- Support engineering audits and compliance verification activities.
Inspector
- Conduct site inspections to verify construction quality and compliance with approved drawings.
- Monitor MEP installations, structural works, or fire protection systems as per specialization.
- Prepare inspection reports and technical recommendations.
- Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical deviations.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and authority regulations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mandatory).
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in engineering, design review, or inspection roles.
- Experience working with Dubai-based authorities or Dubai Free Zone Authorities is highly preferred.
- Background in one of the following disciplines:
- Fire & Life Safety (FLS)
- MEP Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Civil Engineering (for Inspector roles only if MEP background is not available).
CERTIFICATIONS & REGISTRATIONS (ADVANTAGEOUS)
- Dubai Municipality (DM) Registration is a strong advantage.
- Relevant UAE authority approvals experience is preferred.
- Professional engineering memberships are an advantage.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of UAE building codes and authority regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical design software.
- Knowledge of submission and approval processes within UAE regulatory environments.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
