Role Overview

Robert Bird Group is seeking an experienced Dry Utilities Lead to lead the planning, design, and delivery of dry utilities systems across major infrastructure and mixed-use developments. This role will take ownership of dry utilities design from concept through IFC, provide technical leadership to project teams, and support bid and business development activities.

The role requires strong technical depth, authority interface experience, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination across large-scale programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of dry utilities systems, including MV, LV, substations, street lighting, telecom, and associated infrastructure
• Manage dry utilities scope from concept, master planning, detailed design, IFC, and construction support
• Prepare and review design reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
• Develop power demand studies, utility corridors, ROW requirements, and coordination layouts
• Interface with local authorities and utility providers to secure approvals and compliance
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and designers within the team
• Coordinate closely with roads, transport, landscape, buildings, and other infrastructure disciplines
• Support bid and proposal activities, including methodologies, assumptions, exclusions, and technical inputs
• Support site teams during construction to resolve technical queries and ensure design intent is achieved
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in dry utilities design and infrastructure projects
• Strong experience delivering dry utilities on large-scale infrastructure, urban, or mixed-use developments
• Proven capability in MV and LV networks, substations, street lighting, and telecom coordination
• Solid experience with authority approvals and utility coordination in the Middle East
• Strong knowledge of international and local standards and regulations
• Experience leading teams and managing technical deliverables across multiple projects
• Exposure to bid support and technical proposal development
• Proficiency in relevant engineering tools such as ETAP, Dialux, and design coordination platforms
