Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Editor to lead Oil & Gas Middle East, the region's leading B2B energy publication. For nearly two decades, the brand has served as a trusted source of information for professionals across the upstream oil and gas industry, delivering authoritative coverage across print, digital, social and live events.

The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial background, a confident understanding of the regional energy landscape, and the ability to deliver high-impact journalism for a senior audience of C-suite executives, engineers, project managers and government stakeholders.

This is a dynamic opportunity for a journalist with proven editorial leadership skills and the ability to shape content strategy, generate in-depth features and analysis, and manage a busy editorial calendar across print, digital, social media and events.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive editorial planning and execution across the monthly magazine, website, newsletters and social channels, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality news, expert interviews, project coverage and technical insight across the oil and gas value chain.
  • Maintain and strengthen Oil & Gas Middle East's position as a leading voice in the regional energy sector. Develop strong relationships with operators, EPCs, technology providers, government entities and senior industry figures.
  • Stay up to date with key developments in upstream exploration and production, digital transformation, decarbonisation, hydrogen, LNG, refining and petrochemicals, ensuring relevance and authority in all published content.
  • Oversee content output across print and digital platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, accuracy and depth, and delivering proactive, agenda-setting journalism.
  • Collaborate with the wider editorial and digital teams to grow audience reach and engagement, strengthening the brand's influence among senior energy professionals across the GCC.
  • Play a central role in the brand's events portfolio, including the Oil & Gas Middle East Awards and strategy summits. Moderate panel discussions, conduct on-stage interviews, contribute to programme development and provide comprehensive editorial coverage.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to support sponsored features, special reports and content partnerships, ensuring all branded content aligns with editorial standards and delivers value to the audience.
  • Work alongside editors across the wider B2B portfolio to identify shared themes, cross-sector opportunities and collaborative initiatives that support the broader Business Group.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of editorial experience, ideally within B2B or business publishing, with a strong portfolio of published work.
  • Strong interest in oil and gas, energy or heavy industry. Understanding of the GCC energy landscape and key markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable working across CMS platforms, social media channels and newsletter systems, with an understanding of digital publishing best practice.
  • Ability to lead a major regional brand, manage workflows effectively and contribute to long-term editorial strategy.
  • Strong writing, editing and interviewing skills, with the confidence to represent the brand publicly and moderate industry events.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities across print, digital and live platforms in a fast-paced media environment.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with commercial and events teams while maintaining editorial integrity.
  • Willingness to travel across the GCC, including Saudi Arabia and key industry events such as ADIPEC and regional energy summits.
