Role Summary
The Electrical Discipline Manager will lead the electrical engineering discipline within a consulting and design firm focused on substations, power systems, energy projects, and infrastructure. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery oversight, client engagement, and people management to ensure high‑quality, safe, and cost‑effective electrical designs across multiple projects and regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Own technical standards, design methodologies, and best practices for substation, energy, infrastructure and power system design.
- Review and approve electrical design deliverables including single‑line diagrams, protection & control schemes, cable schedules, earthing studies, and equipment specifications.
Project Delivery Oversight
- Provide discipline oversight across project lifecycle from FEED and detailed design to commissioning support.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, regulatory codes, and industry standards.
- Monitor technical risks and implement mitigation plans.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multi‑disciplinary electrical team of engineers, designers.
- Allocate resources, set performance objectives, and conduct technical training.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as senior technical point of contact for clients, utilities, EPC contractors, and vendors.
- Support proposals, technical clarifications, and commercial negotiations.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
- Enforce QA/QC processes, HSE requirements, and document control for electrical deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement and lessons‑learned across projects.
Business Development Support
- Contribute to bid preparation, technical proposals, and capability presentations.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and technical offerings.
