Role Responsibilities:
- Design and development: Create and develop electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts for industrial equipment and systems using software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Technical analysis: Perform detailed calculations, conduct simulations, and perform feasibility studies to ensure designs are effective and meet performance requirements.
- Material selection: Research and select appropriate electrical components, materials, and equipment for projects.
- Compliance and standards: Ensure all designs and systems adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and codes like the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Technical support: Provide technical support to project managers, technicians, and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and purchase orders.
- Cost management: Assist in budget preparation by estimating material, labor, and construction costs for projects.
- Project collaboration: Collaborate with other engineers and departments to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Educational Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required.
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license is often preferred.
Experience:
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software is essential.
Behavioral Skills:
- Physical stamina, good hand-eye coordination, and strength for tasks like lifting heavy materials.
- Comfort working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and good colour perception.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
