Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Abha, Saudi Arabia
Reports to: Construction Manager / Project Director
Role Purpose
The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee, coordinate, and manage all electrical works for a cultural project, including design review, installation, testing, and commissioning. The role covers power distribution, lighting (including architectural and museum lighting), low current systems, fire alarm, and integration with Building Management Systems (BMS), ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), international standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Oversight
- Review electrical design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
- Ensure compliance with SBC, NFPA, IEC, and international museum standards.
- Prepare and review load schedules, Single Line Diagrams, and As-Built drawings.
- Provide technical support to resolve site issues and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
Construction Supervision
- Supervise installation of electrical systems, including:
- Power distribution, grounding, and earthing.
- Indoor and outdoor lighting systems, architectural and museum lighting.
- Generators (selection, installation, testing, and commissioning).
- Transformers and associated protection systems.
- Cable routing (cable trays, conduits), electrical rooms, and manholes.
- Monitor compliance with specifications, quality, and safety requirements.
- Conduct inspections and issue snag lists for corrective actions.
Low Current Systems
- Oversee installation and integration of:
- Fire Alarm Systems (Addressable).
- Public Address / Audio Systems.
- Lighting Control Panels (LCP).
- CCTV and Security Systems.
- Master Clock System.
- Integration with BMS.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Supervise testing and commissioning of electrical and ELV systems.
- Ensure delivery of As-Built drawings, O&M manuals, and training sessions.
- Support project close-out and handover to client representatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 510 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in fit-out, museum, cultural, or large-scale building projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, ELV systems, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with SBC, NFPA, IEC standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project / Primavera P6.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
