About the Role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Inspector to oversee the day-to-day electrical activities on construction sites, ensuring that all electrical works are executed in full compliance with design specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety regulations.
This key role requires a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of electrical engineering practices and the ability to supervise site activities, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and maintain consistent progress on the ground. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of electrical works (cable laying, conduit installation, panel boards, lighting systems, grounding systems, etc.).
- Verify compliance with approved electrical drawings, ITPs, and method statements.
- Witness on-site electrical testing and quality checks (continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, grounding tests, etc.).
- Inspect electrical materials delivered to site to confirm compliance with approved submittals.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of electrical materials and equipment.
- Check workmanship quality and report any deficiencies or non-compliances.
- Maintain inspection logs, site observation reports, and daily activity reports.
- Report non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of snag lists and punch lists related to electrical installations.
- Coordinate with Senior Electrical Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, and contractor supervisors.
- Follow up on rectification works and confirm proper resolution.
- Assist in verifying completed electrical works for billing and payment certification.
- Report unsafe practices and coordinate with HSE officers to enforce electrical safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in site supervision or electrical inspection on construction projects.
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical standards, installation methodologies, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with industry codes and regulations such as IEC, NEC, or local electrical authority standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
