Manage the development, review, and issuance of secondary design deliverables, including protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking drawings, logic diagrams, panel arrangements, and cable schedules, in line with project requirements and approved standards.
Supervise the section team in assigning tasks, reviewing outputs, and ensuring design quality, consistency, and timely completion of all secondary engineering deliverables.
Coordinate with primary design, civil, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure proper integration of secondary systems with overall project execution requirements.
Review protection philosophies, control logics, relay setting bases, technical specifications, and vendor documents to ensure compliance with client requirements, utility standards, and applicable codes.
Implement design control procedures, checking processes, and document review mechanisms to maintain accuracy, traceability, and compliance with quality standards.
Support technical discussions with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve comments, technical clarifications, and coordination issues related to secondary systems.
Monitor design schedules, section priorities, and workload allocation to ensure the timely release of drawings, calculations, and engineering documents in line with project milestones.
Review design changes, technical deviations, and engineering risks, and recommend practical solutions that maintain system reliability, safety, and operational performance.
Coordinate the selection and interface of protection relays, control systems, SCADA/automation components, and panel requirements to ensure compatibility and functional performance.
Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, and section performance indicators, highlighting secondary design status, constraints, and required corrective actions to management.
Support tendering and pre-award activities by providing secondary design inputs, technical clarifications, scope reviews, and estimation support when required.
Develop the technical capabilities of section staff through coaching, on-the-job guidance, and knowledge sharing on protection, control, and secondary design practices.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 12 years of experience in secondary design and engineering within EPC or consultancy environments.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN or equivalent electrical design tools, ETAP or other power system analysis software, MS Office, document management systems, and project coordination tools.
Deep understanding of EPC project workflows, design integration, and multidisciplinary coordination.
