Job Description

Location: Riyadh

Position Objectives:

The Electromechanical Design Engineer's main role is to review electrical DC/AC design calculations as well as HVAC, accompanied by drawings and layouts. The engineer shall ensure full compliance with the codes in Telecom Infrastructure and that all produced designs are in line with the client's specifications, standards, and methods.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage electrical and mechanical design content and coordinate with other team members to produce the final product and documentation.
  • Translate telecom service orders into electromechanical engineering requirements.
  • Review and approve electrical (AC & DC) and mechanical (HVAC) design calculations, and provide a final recommendation on the feasibility of the scope.
  • Review and approve design drawings for electrical and mechanical systems across telecom infrastructure sites.
  • Propose and guide site-specific electromechanical design whenever required, including equipment room layouts, power distribution, and cooling solutions.
  • Lead necessary coordination with all stakeholders, resolving different issues that may result in delays or setbacks in project progress.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical design issues and implement corrective actions to prevent construction delays.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to prevent design errors, material failures, and compliance breaches.
  • Produce final design attributes, including but not limited to total load in Watts, CAPEX, power availability, and future do-ability assessments.
  • Assist other team members whenever requested by the line manager, with overall department targets as the collective goal.

Qualification and Required Skills

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8-10 Years of Solid understanding of Telecommunications Industry standards, including IEEE and related telecom power standards.
  • Proven knowledge in DC power system designs and specifications, including 48V DC architecture, rectifiers, and battery backup.
  • Good understanding of AC power distribution and HVAC systems within telecom infrastructure environments.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for reviewing and producing electromechanical drawings — core requirement.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications — core requirement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English — mandatory.
  • Effective coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
