At DERC we are looking for an Electronics Engineer to integrate with the Signals, Acoustics &

Electronics (SEA) team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and

testing wide range of electronic circuits used by the team. The candidate will perform activities such as:

  • Maintain and expand the component library (including symbol, footprint, supply chain etc.)
  • Designing and building the physical hardware, component selection, and testing circuits for performance and reliability.
  • Preparing manufacture data package for prototype/production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both hardware and software related to electronic subsystems.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in electronic technologies and integrate the latest innovations into system designs.
  • Document designs, develop technical specifications, and contribute to the creation of system manuals.
  • Results and project reporting.
  • Working collaboratively with project team members

Skills required for the job

  • Strong understanding of analog, power, and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and electronic components selection.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, LTspice) and PCB design software (Altium Designer preferred).
  • Experience with SI/PI or PDN simulation tool (Ansys AeDT, Keysight ADS SI/PI pro,
  • Hyperlinx, Altair Pollex etc).
  • Experience in circuit development using GaN technology.
  • Experience in ultra-low noise measurement.
  • Familiar with DFM tools for manufacturing.
  • Familiar with tight integration of electronics in complex mechanical assemblies - ideally basic experience in CAD tools like SolidWorks/Fusion360 to determine PCB outline shapes, defining wiring harnesses/FPCs and verify physical fit of designed modules.
  • Hands-on experience of integrating and troubleshoot multi-board electronics
  • Hands-on experience in the development of electronics for underwate sensing/communication is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multicultural research team with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Very good level of English (speaking and writing)

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Communication skills for working in a multidisciplinary team.
