Job Title: Emergency Response Team (ERT) Member

Reports To: HSE Manager / Emergency Response Team Leader
Job Purpose
To provide immediate and effective emergency response services across oil and gas facilities in compliance with HSE Standards, UAE Civil Defense regulations, and NFPA codes. The role involves advanced firefighting, technical rescue (rope/line), HAZMAT response, and fire pump operations to ensure safety of personnel, assets, and environment.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response & Firefighting
- Respond to fires, explosions, hydrocarbon releases, gas leaks, and medical emergencies within Oil and Gas facilities.
- Operate fixed firefighting systems (hydrants, monitors, deluge, foam systems) and portable extinguishers.
- Execute firefighting strategies in line with Fire & Life Safety Codes of Practice.
NFPA Rope / Line Rescue (Technical Rescue)
- Perform high-angle and confined space rescue in compliance with NFPA 1006 & NFPA 1670.
- Set up rope systems, anchors, and rescue rigging for safe casualty evacuation.
- Handle rescue operations in process areas, tanks, and elevated structures.
HAZMAT & Gas Emergency Response
- Respond to hazardous material incidents (H2S release, chemical spills, hydrocarbon leaks).
- Follow NFPA 472 / 1072 and Client HSE procedures for containment and mitigation.
- Conduct gas testing, isolation, decontamination, and emergency control measures.
- Use SCBA, gas detectors, and chemical suits effectively.
Fire Pump & Equipment Operations
- Operate and maintain firewater pump systems (diesel/electric/jockey pumps) as per client standards.
- Monitor pressure, flow, and system readiness of firefighting networks.
- Conduct routine testing of fire alarms, deluge systems, foam skids, and hydrant systems.
Medical Emergency Support
- Provide First Aid, CPR, AED, and trauma response in line with site medical protocols.
- Support emergency evacuation and casualty handling procedures.
Emergency Preparedness & Drills
- Participate in Clinet emergency drills, mock exercises, and scenario-based training.
- Ensure readiness and inspection of all ERT equipment.
- Support development and review of Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
Coordination & Compliance
- Operate within the Incident Command System (ICS) and Client emergency framework.
- Liaise with Client Site Management, UAE Civil Defense, and external emergency services.
- Ensure strict compliance with Client HSE policies, PTW (Permit to Work), and LOTO procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs of emergency equipment inspections and drills.
- Participate in incident investigation, reporting, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure documentation meets Client audit and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Fire & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 6 years in Oil & Gas (Client or similar Middle East operations preferred).
- Strong experience in plant emergency response and industrial firefighting.
