- Supervise construction of reinforced concrete foundations for:
- Power transformers
- Circuit breakers
- Lightning masts
- Gantry structures
- Cable support structures
- Ensure proper reinforcement placement, formwork, and concrete pouring.
- Check anchor bolts alignment and positioning for electrical equipment.
- Supervise construction of the substation control room building, including:
- Foundations
- Structural concrete works
- Block/brick walls
- Roof slab
- Finishing works
- Ensure spaces for switchgear rooms, relay rooms, and battery rooms are constructed as per drawings.
- Oversee construction of:
- Cable trenches
- Underground cable ducts
- Manholes and handholes
- Ensure correct dimensions, slope, and drainage to prevent water accumulation.
- Supervise construction of transformer oil pits and oil containment systems.
- Ensure drainage systems and oil-water separators are built according to environmental standards.
- Manage construction of:
- Internal access roads
- Gravel or crushed stone yard
- Equipment foundations area
- Ensure proper compaction and grading of the yard.
- Ensure all civil works follow project specifications and standards.
- Check levels, alignment, and dimensions before and after construction.
- Coordinate material testing such as:
- Concrete cube tests
- Soil compaction tests
- Work closely with electrical engineers and installation teams.
- Ensure civil structures are ready before equipment installation.
- Provide support during equipment erection and cable installation.
- Ensure site activities follow construction safety standards.
- Monitor excavation safety and heavy equipment operations.
- Implement PPE and safe work practices.
- Prepare daily progress reports.
- Maintain records of:
- Concrete pours
- Material deliveries
- Inspection reports
- Assist in quantity measurement and billing.
