Job Summary
The Enterprise Data Solution Architect will define and lead the organization's enterprise-wide data strategy and architecture, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric. This role is responsible for designing, governing, and modernizing data platforms to enable analytics, AI/ML, and BI across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Microsoft Fabric architect-level expertise combined with strong stakeholder engagement and governance leadership in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligned with business and digital transformation goals.
- Design and architect Microsoft Fabric-based data platforms, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Real-Time Analytics, and Semantic Models.
- Lead the transition from legacy data warehouses and BI platforms to Microsoft Fabric and modern lakehouse architectures (Medallion pattern).
- Define and govern conceptual, logical, and physical data models across enterprise data domains.
- Ensure data platforms support enterprise analytics, Power BI, AI/ML, and real-time use cases.
- Architect secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-native data solutions on Azure, leveraging Fabric-native capabilities.
- Embed data governance, lineage, metadata, and quality controls using Microsoft Purview and Fabric governance features.
- Define access control, security, and data privacy models aligned with enterprise and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR).
- Partner with business, compliance, and technology stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
- Provide architectural oversight, standards, and guidance to data engineering and analytics teams.
- Evaluate emerging Microsoft and cloud data technologies and recommend best-fit solutions.
- Mentor teams on Microsoft Fabric best practices, architecture patterns, and governance models.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Fabric solutions (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Power BI, Data Engineering, Real-Time Analytics).
- 12+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Architecture roles.
- Strong expertise in Azure data services and modern data platform design.
- Deep understanding of lakehouse architecture, medallion pattern, and enterprise data modeling.
- Proven experience in data migration and modernization from legacy DWH/BI platforms to Fabric or Azure-based platforms.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata, and data quality frameworks.
- Ability to design secure, compliant enterprise data platforms in regulated environments.
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging senior stakeholders.
