Your Role

As an EHS Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment across the site. This position is a legal requirement to ensure the availability of one qualified EHS professional per shift. You will monitor workplace risks, support incident management, provide EHS guidance to operations teams, and help maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring EHS risks associated with daily operational activities during the assigned shift.
  • Identifying hazards and ensuring appropriate control measures are in place.
  • Providing advice and recommendations on EHS-related matters and corrective actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations, company policies, and EHS procedures.
  • Conducting workplace inspections and safety observations.
  • Supporting the investigation and assessment of unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses and accidents.
  • Following up on corrective and preventive actions resulting from incidents and audits.
  • Maintaining accurate EHS records and reports.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and employee awareness across the site.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response activities when required.
  • Perform EHS planned and needed training and awarenesses.
  • Issuing EHS work permits as per the local regulations, company policies, and EHS procedures.
  • Visually inspection for rented equipment, following and reviewing effectiveness and implementation of the inspection performed by department assigned employees for owned equipment.
  • Responsible for hazardous waste area management and hazardous waste disposal and maintain accurate disposal reports and records as per local regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Assuring the implementation of company EHS contractor management procedures on all contractors onsite.
  • Fire fighting and fire alarm systems monthly visual inspection.

About you

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices within a manufacturing environment.

What we're looking for:

  • Industrial practical high school or intermediate diploma.
  • Basic or advanced Safety technician certificate.
  • Civil defense certificate.
  • OSHA attendance certificate.
  • Previous experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, food and beverage, chemical industries, or industrial operations.
  • Knowledge of local EHS legislation and safety management systems.
  • Fair experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fair Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fair command of both Arabic and English.
  • 1st aid, risk management, NEBOSH IGC, another technical certificate is plus.
