WhizzHR is hiring an Estimation & Procurement Engineer in Dubai

Reports To: Project Manager / Commercial Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an Estimation & Procurement Engineer responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and managing procurement activities for construction and fit-out projects. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure competitive pricing, timely material procurement, and cost-effective project execution in line with company standards and UAE construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, and detailed project cost estimates.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate cost assessments.
  • Prepare tender submissions, quotation proposals, and cost comparison sheets.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Assist in project budgeting, cost control, and forecasting during execution.
  • Maintain records of historical cost data, supplier rates, and project pricing.

Procurement

  • Manage procurement of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare purchase orders, procurement schedules, and material submittals.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to support project timelines.
  • Track orders, monitor delivery status, and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with site teams and project managers on material requirements and schedules.
  • Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 25 years of experience in construction estimation, quantity surveying, or procurement.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel; experience with estimating software is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of BOQ preparation, tendering procedures, and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of UAE construction standards is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
