Estimation Engineer (Roads & Asphalt Only)

Role Description

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for asphalt paving and road construction projects (both internal and external). The role involves pricing materials, production, equipment, manpower, subcontractors, and transportation to support competitive and profitable tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications, and scope of work.
• Prepare detailed asphalt quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Estimate production costs including bitumen, aggregates, fuel, plant load, manpower, and equipment.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations for materials and transport.
• Prepare commercial proposals and pricing sheets.
• Calculate production cost per ton/m and estimate machinery and transportation usage.
• Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, and Finance on capacity, pricing, and margins.
• Maintain cost databases, update rates, and track tender results.
• Support project teams with planning, variations, and cost comparisons.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in asphalt estimation or road construction.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt production and paving operations.
• Excellent analytical and MS Excel skills.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
