Job Description

ASMO is a groundbreaking joint venture between DHL and Aramco. Inheriting DHL's logistics excellence and Aramco's extensive supply chain ecosystem, we are here to set a new benchmark and redefine the procurement and supply chain landscape, enabling growth.

ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.

Objective

The role holder is responsible for managing a team focused on back-end procurement operations, including supplier claims resolution, query handling, and expediting procurement requisitions (PRs), purchase orders (POs), and deliveries. Additionally, the role involves overseeing all follow-up activities as required for ASMO to manage end-to-end supply chain activities. The role ensures that all supplier interactions and internal processes are handled efficiently, supporting business continuity and operational excellence.

General Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end supplier registration process, ensuring all required documentation and compliance checks are completed within established timelines.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex supplier queries, providing timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to maintain and enhance supplier portals for efficient query tracking and resolution.
  • Monitor the progress of procurement requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely approvals, processing, and issuance and implement & improve relevant performance metrics.
  • Work closely with suppliers to expedite critical orders and resolve bottlenecks in delivery schedules.
  • Oversee the resolution of supplier claims, including defective goods, short shipments, and billing discrepancies.
  • Ensure all claims are documented, analyzed, and resolved in alignment with contractual terms and organizational policies & there is timely closure.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, correspondence, and follow-ups for transparency and audit purposes.
  • Prepare detailed operational reports, including supplier performance metrics, order cycle times, and areas for improvement.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key suppliers to improve responsiveness and foster collaborative problem-solving.
  • Ensure timely coordination with logistics and warehousing teams to facilitate the receipt of goods and materials, address delays and disruptions & implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Liaise with demand planning, project management & finance teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and requirements, payments and issue resolutions for suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in degree in Business Administration or Economics or Supply Chain / Logistics or equivalent is required from a recognized and accredited university is required.
  • Professional certification in Six Sigma/Lean Management.
  • Recognized Supply Chain certifications such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is preferred.
  • 10+ years in procurement, supply chain, or logistics operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven expertise in managing supplier relations, procurement processes, and team leadership in large-scale projects.
