Job Purpose
The Facility Management Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all building facilities and infrastructure across company locations. The role oversees day-to-day facility maintenance activities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general building systems.
The engineer manages a team of maintenance technicians and ensures that all facility-related issues reported by employees are addressed promptly through the facility management system. The goal is to maintain safe, functional, and well-maintained working environments across all company premises.
Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance Management
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure including electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility equipment.
- Ensure all facilities are operating efficiently and safely across offices, showrooms, and operational locations.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent potential issues.
Work Order & Service Request Management
- Manage facility maintenance requests through the company maintenance management system.
- Track, prioritize, and ensure timely resolution of reported issues (e.g., lighting failures, plumbing issues, HVAC problems).
- Coordinate with technicians to assign and follow up on work orders until completion.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and guide a team of maintenance technicians responsible for facility repairs.
- Plan and assign daily maintenance tasks and ensure work is completed according to standards.
- Provide technical support and training to technicians when required.
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems.
- Ensure periodic servicing of electrical panels, HVAC units, water systems, lighting systems, and other building assets.
- Maintain records of preventive maintenance activities.
Facility Systems Monitoring
- Monitor facility systems performance and identify recurring maintenance issues.
- Analyze maintenance reports and recommend improvements to increase facility reliability and efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with company safety policies and HSE standards.
- Maintain safe working conditions in all company facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations related to building maintenance and safety.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation within the facility management system.
- Track maintenance KPIs such as response time, resolution time, and recurring issues.
- Prepare periodic facility maintenance reports for management review.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in facility management or building maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting).
- Ability to manage multiple facility requests and priorities.
- Experience managing maintenance teams or technicians.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or facility ticketing systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety and maintenance standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Basic planning, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance systems.
