The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Factory Continuous Improvement Specialist for the 10th of Ramadan Transformer factory. In this role, the specialist will drive sustainable and transformational change across the extended Factory Value Chain, focusing on Lean (ITM) maturity and demonstrating improvement in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.

The specialist will be responsible for defining and implementing short, medium, and long-term actions to enhance all processes related to operational excellence throughout the entire value chain, with the goal of improving customer satisfaction, reducing operating costs, and building sustainable competitiveness in a safe working environment.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture focused on waste elimination using ITM tools such as 5S, Visual Management, SMED, Standard Work, Gemba Walks, Kaizen, VSM, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset across the organization through training, coaching, and best practice sharing, and lead Kaizen events to optimize KPIs around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.
  • Create and manage projects using problem-solving tools like JDI, A3, 8D, and DMAIC to achieve targets and ensure effective sustainment of results.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives aligned with strategic business goals to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Optimize and integrate KPIs for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost, and lead cost reduction initiatives to align actions with strategic goals.
  • Develop continuous improvement capabilities by training and coaching on ITM tools, fostering a coaching culture focused on engagement and accountability.
  • Lead and manage cost-out enablers and productivity projects, train team members in RELEX reporting, and collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects for cost reduction and profit improvement.
  • Collaborate with the related team to develop and operationalize the Strategy Deployment process, facilitating breakthrough objectives, action plans, KPIs, and Kaizen roadmaps.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering. Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in continuous improvement, lean tools application, developing a lean culture, process optimization, and digital transformers roles.
  • Solid understanding of six sigma methodology and lean training or certification preferred.
  • Advanced user of MS Office applications; expertise in Power BI is considered a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and adherence to all relevant workplace safety guidelines; demonstrates self-motivation with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Turkish and English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of management.
