To lead, plan, and optimize all aspects of manufacturing operations for processed and frozen meat and poultry products, including forming, marination, coating, frying, freezing (IQF/blast), and packaging. The Head of Manufacturing ensures that production meets volume, quality, cost, and safety targets in line with business strategy, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the Manufacturing Department
- Ensure optimal availability, quality, and usage of raw materials for production.
- Maintain accurate stock levels, minimize overstocking/stock outs, and reduce wastage.
- Liaise with procurement and suppliers to manage delivery schedules and material quality.
- Drive material yield improvement, reduce raw material losses, and control costs.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage and develop a team responsible for material handling and planning.
- Lead R&D, QA, maintenance, and Factory warehouse to ensure seamless operations.
- Prepare for and pass internal/external audits (FSSC, BRC, Halal, customer audits).
- Liaise and interact and manage relationships with suppliers, internal customers and support services (QHSE, R&D, Engineering,) to execute trials and audits and also ensure achievements of targets
- Plan, justify, and manage capital investment projects (new lines, equipment upgrades, capacity expansion), ensuring ROI and alignment with strategic growth
- Monitor and control operational budgets (labor, utilities, packaging, spares, and consumables), driving cost efficiency and budget adherence.
- Improve yields, reduce downtime, enhance line throughput, and ensure optimal batch-to-batch consistency.
- Lead multi-shift teams; define KPIs for line leaders, technicians, and supervisors.
