Job Description

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Chemistry Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. This role focuses on delivering foundational chemistry courses to pre-medical students, building strong scientific understanding and preparing them for advanced healthcare studies.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Delivery

  • Deliver Chemistry lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for preparatory year students
  • Simplify core concepts such as general chemistry, basic organic chemistry, and chemical principles
  • Apply student-centered teaching methods to enhance engagement and comprehension
  • Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools effectively
  • Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft)
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports

Student Support

  • Provide academic advising and support for foundation-level students
  • Identify and support students facing academic challenges
  • Encourage analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Academic Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
  • Submit course reports and academic documentation on time

Collaboration & Engagement

  • Participate in departmental meetings and academic initiatives
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure consistent curriculum delivery

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
  • Experience teaching Chemistry (preferably preparatory/foundation programs)
  • Strong ability to explain complex concepts in a simple, structured way
  • Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
