The successful candidates will have a proven track record of academic and research excellence, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for developing the next generation of leaders. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in respective disciplines.
- Establish a productive research agenda aligned with global and regional challenges.
- Attract external funding and produce high-quality publications.
- Boost dynamic research environment and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Contribute to program development and assessment.
- Build partnerships with industries and participate in community engagement initiatives.
- Support the school's accreditation and quality assurance efforts.
- Supervise student research and projects at both undergraduate and graduate levels and mentor their professional development.
- Engage in service activities within the department, school, and university.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in microbiology, biochemistry, or other related field from a world-renowned research institute.
- Experience in mass spectrometry, genetic engineering, protein production, and conducting bacterial genetic knockouts.
- A proven track record of publishing research in bacterial vaccines and microbial pathogenesis.
- Experience in applying/securing international research funding.
- Contributed to developing candidate vaccines targeting bacterial pathogens from the World Health Organization bacterial priority list.
- Hold a patent in bacterial vaccine development.
- Experience in teaching in both online and in-person settings.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- A bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or other related fields.
- Participated in organizing international conferences and has a strong research network.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working in an industrial setting, preferably in a vaccine production company.
- Postgraduate certificate in learning and teaching.
- A demonstrated ability to lead initiatives in innovation and supporting the wider scientific community.
