Job Summary

The FF&E Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) packages in hospitality, commercial, residential, and office fit-out projects. The role involves analyzing project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to determine project costs, coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams, and support the sales and projects departments during the tendering process.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FF&E products, furniture manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and installation costs within the Saudi market.

Key Responsibilities1. Cost Estimation & Tendering
  • Prepare detailed FF&E cost estimates based on project drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
  • Review tender documents, scope of work, and technical requirements for hospitality, office, retail, and residential projects.
  • Prepare itemized cost breakdowns including materials, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and installation.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and subcontractor pricing to determine the most competitive offers.
  • Ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project specifications.
2. BOQ & Quantity Take-Off
  • Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for FF&E items.
  • Verify quantities of furniture items, fixtures, accessories, and equipment required for the project.
  • Coordinate with design and technical teams to clarify specifications and drawings.
3. Supplier & Procurement Coordination
  • Liaise with local and international FF&E suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals based on price, quality, lead time, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain an updated supplier database for furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Support the procurement team with cost benchmarking and value engineering options.
4. Value Engineering
  • Propose cost optimization strategies and alternative materials while maintaining quality and design standards.
  • Provide value engineering solutions to reduce project cost without compromising project specifications.
  • Work closely with the design and project management teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
5. Tender Submission & Documentation
  • Prepare complete estimation packages and tender submissions.
  • Develop cost summaries, comparison sheets, and technical clarifications.
  • Participate in tender review meetings and bid evaluation discussions.
  • Support commercial and sales teams during client negotiations and project awards.
6. Project Cost Monitoring
  • Assist project teams in budget tracking and cost control during project execution.
  • Monitor variations and additional work orders related to FF&E scope.
  • Provide updated cost reports and variance analysis when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Industrial Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Certification or training in cost estimation or quantity surveying is an advantage.
Experience
  • 37 years of experience in FF&E estimation, fit-out, or furniture projects.
  • Experience in hospitality, office, retail, or residential fit-out projects in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing, procurement, and installation processes.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of FF&E materials, furniture specifications, and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with BOQ preparation and quantity take-offs.
  • Proficiency in:
