Job Summary
The FF&E Interior Designer is responsible for selecting, specifying, and coordinating all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) elements for interior design and fit-out projects. The role includes developing FF&E concepts, preparing mood boards, sourcing materials and furniture, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring all FF&E items meet the project design intent, budget, and timeline.
The position requires strong knowledge of international furniture brands, materials, fabrics, lighting, and accessories, with experience in hospitality, residential, office, and retail interior projects within the Saudi market.
Key Responsibilities1. FF&E Concept Development
- Develop FF&E design concepts aligned with the overall interior design vision.
- Prepare mood boards, concept presentations, and material palettes.
- Select appropriate furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, artwork, and accessories.
- Ensure design solutions meet client expectations, functionality, and aesthetics.
2. Furniture & Material Selection
- Specify furniture, lighting fixtures, fabrics, finishes, wall coverings, carpets, and accessories.
- Prepare FF&E schedules and specifications for project documentation.
- Research and source products from local and international suppliers and manufacturers.
- Ensure all FF&E items comply with project design standards and brand guidelines.
3. FF&E Documentation
- Prepare detailed FF&E schedules, specifications, and procurement packages.
- Produce design drawings, layouts, and presentation documents.
- Maintain accurate material boards and sample libraries.
- Coordinate FF&E documentation with technical drawings and BOQs.
4. Supplier & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and procurement teams.
- Request and review product samples, quotations, and shop drawings.
- Evaluate supplier proposals based on quality, design compliance, and budget.
- Assist procurement teams during vendor selection and purchasing processes.
5. Project Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors.
- Ensure FF&E design integration with overall project layout and architectural design.
- Review shop drawings and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Support project teams during design development and construction phases.
6. Site Coordination & Installation
- Conduct site visits to ensure proper installation of FF&E items.
- Review furniture installation and finishing quality.
- Coordinate with installation teams to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Assist in snagging and final inspection of FF&E items.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Professional certification in interior design is an advantage.
Experience
- 37 years of experience in interior design with focus on FF&E specification.
- Experience in hospitality, residential, retail, or commercial projects.
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or GCC market is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of furniture design, materials, fabrics, and finishes.
- Proficiency in design software:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- 3ds Max / Lumion (preferred)
- Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator
- Microsoft Office
