Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Art Director to join our team!

Job Description:

As a Field Art Director, you will be responsible for the on-site artistic and visual development of themed environments, attractions, and experiences during fabrication and installation phases. You will ensure that the creative vision and design intent are accurately executed in the field, maintaining consistency, quality, and storytelling alignment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Representing the Art Director on site to ensure artistic vision and design intent are properly executed during fabrication and installation.
  • Overseeing on-site scenic finishing, painting, graphics installation, and themed surface treatments to maintain visual quality and consistency.
  • Reviewing and verifying scenic mock-ups, samples, colour palettes, textures, and finishes prior to full production and installation.
  • Coordinating closely with scenic fabricators, installers, painters, and construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of design intent.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks to confirm materials, finishes, and installation details meet approved artistic standards.
  • Providing real-time artistic guidance and problem-solving during fabrication and installation phases.
  • Reviewing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details to ensure alignment with design intent.
  • Working with the Art Director, Show Producer, and technical teams to resolve design challenges and maintain creative integrity.
  • Ensuring proper coordination between scenic elements, architectural features, lighting, show systems, and ride components.
  • Monitoring installation progress and providing feedback to ensure schedule and quality expectations are maintained.
  • Documenting field adjustments and providing updated reference materials and redlines where design changes are required.
  • Supporting final theming punch lists, quality reviews, pre-opening inspections, and assisting with preparation of as-built documentation and maintenance guidelines.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Scenic Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in themed entertainment, show production, scenic fabrication, film production design, live entertainment, immersive environments, and/or show signage and graphics.
  • Proven experience working on themed attractions, theme parks, exhibitions, or large-scale entertainment environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge of scenic fabrication, scenic painting techniques, materials, finishes, aging/distressing methods, and themed surface treatments.
  • Experience supporting projects during fabrication, installation, and on-site finishing phases.
  • Ability to interpret and execute design intent packages, art direction documents, and creative guidelines.
  • Experience coordinating with scenic fabricators, installers, construction teams, and technical disciplines on-site.
  • Strong understanding of quality control for themed environments, including colour matching, materials verification, and finishing standards.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments and manage multiple installation activities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Producers, Ride Managers, technical teams, and relevant contractors.
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, mock-ups, scenic samples, and installation details.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:


  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar visualization software.
  • Experience on large-scale theme park or themed attraction projects in the GCC.
  • 7–10 years experience in themed attractions, show production, show signage and graphics with international large-scale project exposure.
