Company Overview

Established in 2009 GMCO have fostered a discovery led approach to mine development since its formation the company has made two major discoveries at Jabal Qutman (Gold) and in the Wadi Bidah (Copper-Gold VMS) which are now moving through Feasibility assessment, as well as several smaller discoveries across its licence portfolio. GMCO operates across one of the largest Exploration land packages in Saudi Arabia with access to over 2200km of ground across 29 Exploration licences a further 275km (Four licences) are shortly to be issued following the conclusion of the latest MIM Round 9 bidding process.

Job Summary

This Field Assistant position supports field operations, data collection, and logistical coordination to ensure project goals are met efficiently. The role involves working in diverse environments, collaborating with field teams, and maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy. The Field Assistant reports to the Field Supervisor and travels to project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support field teams with data collection, sample handling, and equipment setup.
  • Assist with site logistics, scheduling, and transportation coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records, field notes, and daily progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and calibration.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and stakeholders.
  • Perform data entry and basic analysis under direction.
  • Adapt to changing field conditions and contribute to problem-solving efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in mining or construction
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certifications in related areas preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to field sites
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with data collection tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Valid driver's license; willingness to operate field vehicles as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of field experience in a related industry
  • Experience with data collection software and mobile devices
  • Technical aptitude for handling sampling equipment and basic maintenance
  • Bilingual abilities (if relevant to the role)
  • Prior experience in a role requiring safety-first mindset
