Position Objective:
- To execute physical data center surveys and capture accurate asset and location data using approved tools and procedures.
- Ensure high-quality evidence (photos where permitted) and clean, structured data submission to support reconciliation activities and maintain reliable asset records across multiple data centers.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Travel (drive) to assigned data center sites across multiple regions within Saudi Arabia in accordance with the approved project schedule.
- Perform physical surveys in data center environments in full compliance with project SOPs and site rules (a) Identify racks and rows (2) Confirm equipment placement.
- Capture required asset attributes (as applicable), including asset tag, serial number, model, hostname, rack ID, and U position.
- Use approved survey tools (mobile applications, scanners, and structured forms) to accurately and consistently record findings.
- Capture clear and useful photographic evidence (where permitted by site policy) to support asset identification and reconciliation, ensure photos are readable (labels, serial numbers, rack IDs), ensure proper framing and linkage to the correct asset record.
- Apply and verify tagging and labeling standards; report missing or incorrect labels and follow assigned re-tagging procedures where required.
- Submit daily progress updates, including issues and exceptions, to the Asset SME & Team Lead; support re-checks and clarification requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain readiness of tools and equipment (scanner/mobile device, batteries, PPE, access badge/permits) and ensure the protection of sensitive information at all times.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
- 13+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: IT support, data center operations, inventory/audit activities, or field technician roles (preferred).
- Comfortable working in data center environments (noise, cold aisles, controlled access) and adhering to strict operational procedures.
- Ability to identify common equipment types (servers, networking, storage, telecom equipment) or demonstrate the ability to learn quickly with guidance.
- Proficient in using mobile applications, scanners, and structured forms/checklists.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively within Saudi Arabia.
- Methodical, disciplined, and highly detail-oriented.
- Able to strictly follow procedures and work effectively in secure environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues proactively and provide clear, structured updates.
- Comfortable with frequent travel and on-site field assignments.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory.
- Valid Saudi driving license is mandatory.
