Job Description

About the company

VentureOne is building a new venture focused on next-generation robotics, developing intelligent service robots designed to operate safely and efficiently in human environments. The mission of this venture is to improve productivity, safety, and efficiency across high-impact industries by deploying versatile robotic systems.

About the role

We are hiring a Field Roboticist (Deployment & Operations) to support the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing operation of autonomous robotic systems in real-world customer environments. This role is hands-on and field-oriented, sitting at the intersection of robotics engineering, operations, and customer delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring robots are correctly deployed, configured, tested, and supported throughout their operational lifecycle. The ideal candidate thrives in on-site environments, enjoys troubleshooting under time pressure, and is comfortable working directly with customers, facilities teams, and internal engineering groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site readiness checks, including power availability, networking, GNSS/NTP setup, and safety requirements, and prepare detailed deployment plans.
  • Install and commission robotic systems in the field, including mechanical mounting, cabling, and sensor calibration (LiDAR, IMU, cameras).
  • Integrate maps provided by surveyors (E57 / PCD / PLY formats converted to USD/BIM) and validate their suitability for localization and navigation.
  • Configure robotic systems, including ROS / ROS2 parameters, launch files, containers, and OTA update channels.
  • Execute site acceptance and commissioning tests (SAT), establishing baseline metrics for system performance and safety.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation such as runbooks, troubleshooting guides, checklists, and on-call playbooks for operators.
  • Monitor fleet health using dashboards, telemetry, and logging tools to proactively identify issues.
  • Provide Level 2 incident response, including triage, root cause analysis, rollback procedures, and incident reporting.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and coordinate hardware swaps with Robotics Technicians.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, site personnel, facilities tea.ms, and internal engineering stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, HSE, and on-site operational standards, including risk assessments, permits, and safe robot practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Field robotics and autonomous systems deployed in real-world environments, including AMRs, quadrupeds, and humanoid robots.
  • 2+ years of experience in field robotics or a similar on-site deployment, commissioning, or operations role.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2, Linux-based systems, Git, diagnostics tools, and TF.
  • Practical experience with sensor bring-up and calibration, including LiDAR, IMU, and time synchronization using NTP or PTP.
  • Strong understanding of networking and systems concepts, including VLANs, firewall basics, VPNs, SSH, and containerized environments (e.g., Docker).
  • Working knowledge of localization and SLAM concepts, with the ability to assess map quality and suitability for navigation.
  • Proven ability to debug complex robotic systems using logs, telemetry, and rapid hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including writing runbooks, operational checklists, and incident reports.
  • Awareness of HSE requirements for on-site work and safe robot operation practices.
  • BSc or MSc in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant training or certifications in ROS, industrial networking, or HSE are considered an advantage.
  • Valid driving license required for on-site deployments and customer travel.

We provide a competitive, tax-free salary and a comprehensive benefits package in a collaborative, innovative and inclusive work environment. Our benefits include an education allowance, free on-site meals, annual flight allowance, health coverage, relocation support (if applicable), and access to well-being activities such as sports and recreational events.

Join us to drive innovation and shape the future of technology!
