Rapiscan Systems is a global leader in detection technology, providing advanced X-ray inspection solutions for ports, borders, airports, and other high-security environments worldwide.
We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical support for Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) systems across the MEA region, with a primary base in Dubai.
Role Overview
The Field Service Technician will deliver highly visible customer support through on-site servicing, maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of complex CVI equipment and systems. This role acts as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customer sites and plays a key role in ensuring system performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- - Provide field service engineering support for Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) scanning systems
- - Carry out system repairs, preventive maintenance, and fault-finding on CVI systems and subsystems
- - Act as the customer's assigned technical Point of Contact (POC)
- - Organise and execute scheduled maintenance and repairs on cargo systems including M60, T60, P60 ZBX, ZBV, Z-Portal, and T25
- - Support Mercedes-based service vehicle requirements, including oil changes, filters, and general upkeep
- - Provide 3rd line technical support to site engineers and customer representatives, both verbally and in writing
- - Deliver defect liability and post-acceptance support for CVI equipment
- - Instruct customers on system operation and maintenance
- - Complete technical documentation including service reports, engineering change requests, and service data entry into internal systems
- - Ensure all issued equipment (vehicles, tools, spares, consumables, and test equipment) is maintained safely and correctly

Qualifications
- - BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
- - Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems
- - Experience with integrated IT systems including PLCs, high-voltage systems, and/or radar
- - Knowledge of IT networking solutions (CCNP or similar preferred)
- - Experience with low-voltage systems, CCTV, UVIS, and hydraulic systems
- - Willingness to work in a field-based role supporting critical security infrastructure
