Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant

Role Description The Director role at Fluxmans Attorneys is a full-time, on-site position based in the City of Johannesburg. The Director will oversee legal matters within their practice area, provide strategic advice to clients, and lead complex transactions, disputes, or advisory mandates. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing client relationships, supervising and mentoring legal teams, reviewing and drafting high-level legal documents, and ensuring matters are executed efficiently and in line with firm standards. The role also involves contributing to business development, participating in firm leadership discussions, and supporting initiatives that advance the firm's inclusive culture and long-term growth. The Director is expected to collaborate closely with other partners and directors to deliver integrated, high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Robust expertise in a recognized legal practice area (e.g., corporate, commercial, litigation, employment, or property law) and demonstrated ability to manage complex matters from inception to completion.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities, including experience supervising, mentoring, and developing attorneys and support professionals.
• Proven client relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice.
• Business development and practice management experience, including contributing to firm growth, managing budgets or targets, and supporting strategic initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and sound professional judgment under pressure.
• Commitment to ethical practice, inclusivity, and equal opportunity, and willingness to support mentoring and skills transfer within the firm.
• LLB or equivalent legal qualification, admission to practice in South Africa, and substantial post-admission experience at senior level (director/partner or equivalent).
