Job Description

A leading regional events gency is expanding its finance function and is seeking a Finance Director to drive financial performance, governance, and operational efficiency across multiple markets.

This role is based in Cairo (Misr El Gedida ) and supports business operations across Egypt, GCC, UAE, and KSA, with a strong focus on financial planning, cash flow optimization, and systems enhancement.

Compensation: EGP 35,000 – 50,000 (Gross)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across regional operations
  • Drive cost control initiatives and improve project-level profitability
  • Oversee cash flow management, collections, and supplier payment cycles
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations across Egypt, UAE, and KSA
  • Manage and enhance financial reporting processes and timelines
  • Act as a strategic partner to leadership on budgeting and business decisions
  • Supervise finance operations, including accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Lead ERP optimization and support ongoing system improvements
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations across Egypt, KSA, and UAE.
  • Ensure compliance with local financial laws and tax filings.
  • Lead and mentor the Cairo-based Finance team and outsourced providers.
  • Review pricing strategies and profitability of projects.
  • Monitor supplier payments and manage collections to ensure healthy cash flow.
  • Oversee ERP systems (QuickBooks/Odoo) and financial reporting.
  • Communicate with banks and external auditors.
  • Ensures the relevant books of accounts are compiled at the end of every financial period.
  • Analyzes business performance / results, providing feedback to Management.
  • Manages the preparation of financial statements and ad hoc financial reports on a periodic basis.
  • Acts as a point of contact for auditors and communicates with them to ensure all questions can be answered efficiently.
  • Keeps abreast of new local and international regulations and standards and takes steps to ensure accounting and financial practices remain in compliance with local and international guidelines.
  • Plans, manages, coordinates, and implements the year-end closing processes and procedures for assigned accounting records.
  • Reviews supporting documentation related to expenses and revenue realizations prior to positing of expenses or revenues.
  • Assists in the development, review and improvement of accountancy and computer systems.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Prepares ad hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information on need basis.
  • Prepare and support the periodic, quarterly and annual audit of the company's financials.
  • Managing cash Management & Cost Control
  • Record accounting transactions.
  • Perform account analysis to ensure entries and balances are correct.
  • Track and assess the company's cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions.
  • Check and record the accuracy of monthly payroll amounts
  • Create and manage adequate regular, annual, and multi-year budgets for the company's needs, including the preparation of periodic budget forecasts.
  • Works with other departments to monitor each department and make recommendations to increasing budget efficiency.
  • Ensure that the department's procedures are consistently documented and relevant evidence is retained.

Experience

  • Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years in finance leadership, preferably in events or service industries.
  • 3 years holding the same position as a Finance Director
  • Deep understanding of financial frameworks in Egypt, KSA, and UAE
  • Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Strong knowledge in Accounting for travel & events agencies
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work for long hours if needed.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, cycle & environment, regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge in a wide range of operations like Finance & Accounting Management,
  • Budgeting & Variance Analysis, Finalization of Accounts & Reporting.
  • Be able to interpret Financial Transactions & Financial Statement
  • Multi-country experience (GCC preferred)
  • Expertise in VAT management
  • ERP implementation experience (Odoo or similar)
  • Strong VAT & ZATCA knowledge is a must
  • Knowledge of working with Microsoft Office Tools.
