JOB SUMMARY:

As a Finance Manager, you are entrusted with managing the company's financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis to uphold financial stability and regulatory compliance. You play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by delivering accurate financial insights and ensuring operational finance is executed with the highest level of accuracy and precision. Beyond overseeing current financial operations, your vision should anticipate future needs, risks, and strategies, with the goal of developing long-term financial plans that secure profitability and sustainability for the organization.

On the people management front, you need to ensure the team is developed and have the right knowledge to deliver what is expected from their respective roles. Training, knowledge sharing, and teamwork should be the common culture within the team. The current financial trends and analytical skills should be incorporated into each team member's working style.

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the financial direction of the organization, proactively identifying opportunities for growth, and safeguarding against potential risks. Your leadership will foster an environment where continuous improvement and adaptation to industry changes are prioritized, ensuring both the team and the company remain competitive and resilient. Through effective mentoring, performance management, and a commitment to professional development, you will cultivate a high-performing finance team that consistently delivers results and supports the overall objectives of the business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to find opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Support strategic business planning through financial modeling and analysis.
  • Advise management on sound financial decisions to support the organization's goals.
  • Identify and assess potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Evaluate and analyze new business ventures, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations to support management decisions.
  • Lead cost negotiations for contracts to ensure optimal pricing and profitability.
  • Oversee financial interactions with customers and vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Conduct detailed trend analysis using existing financial data to identify performance patterns and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage debtors, margins, and other key financial metrics to maintain healthy cash flow and sustainable growth.

2. Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Adhere to tax filing guidelines pertaining to different countries legal requirements.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor cash flow, banking, and investment activities.
  • Optimize working capital and liquidity management.
  • Ensure effective control over receivables and payables.
  • Prepare annual budget in coordination with other departments across the company.
  • Monitor budget adherence and recommend corrective actions

4. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies (IFRS, IAS etc.)
  • Liaise with banks, and regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate annual audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements, reports, and business activity reports.
  • Manage external auditor relationships and oversee the audit process.
  • Aim to be 100% compliant with the internal and external auditors ensuring the financial operations are done with utmost precision and accuracy.

5. Internal Controls

  • Develop and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure the maker-checker concept is incorporated into the day-to-day operations.
  • Support & ensure adherence to the internal stakeholder's timelines for processing payments

6. Systems & Process Improvement

  • Implement & improve ERP and financial software.
  • Automate financial processes for greater efficiency.
  • Remove redundant operations without affecting results.

7. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Provide training and guidance to improve team performance and productivity.
  • Upgrade the team skills with the current market trends by arranging internal and external trainings, for example VAT, corporate taxation, MS excel, financial software's etc.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational and strategic decision-making.
