Role Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and effective financial planning. This role partners closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and drive financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and statutory requirements
- Manage external audits and act as primary liaison with auditors and regulators
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Monitor financial performance against budget and analyze variances
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency
Accounting Operations
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital
- Oversee banking relationships and treasury activities
- Monitor liquidity and ensure adequate funding for operations
Leadership & Stakeholder Support
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Partner with senior management on strategic and operational initiatives
- Support business decisions with financial analysis and scenario modeling
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- 510+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations
- Experience managing audits and leading finance teams

- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency (ERP experience preferred)
