We are looking for an experienced
Financial Manager to lead the financial operations and accounting function of our fast-growing fintech application. The role will cover financial planning, performance analysis, accounting management, financial operations, risk control, and overall financial governance. You will partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance profitability, efficiency, and compliance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Analyze GMV, revenue streams, costs, margins, and unit economics.
- Build dynamic financial models and KPI dashboards (CAC, LTV, churn, etc.).
- Track performance against targets and recommend corrective actions.
Accounting Management
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, monthly/quarterly closing, and financial statements.
- Ensure accurate recognition of revenue, expenses, accruals, provisions, and cost allocations.
- Maintain adherence to Egyptian Accounting Standards and tax regulations.
- Supervise and support the accounting team, enhancing processes and controls.
- Ensure timely preparation of balance sheets, P&L reports, and statutory filings.
Financial Operations & Controlling
- Manage daily financial operations, including AP/AR, treasury, payments, and reconciliation of digital transactions.
- Ensure accuracy in GMV tracking, collections, settlements, and payouts.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial policies.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
Reporting & Governance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.
- Lead internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements relevant to fintech.
- Maintain documentation of financial policies, procedures, and audit-ready records.
Business Partnering
- Support product, operations, and growth teams in financial modeling for pricing, promotions, and new features.
- Analyze profitability and cost structures to support strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with risk and compliance teams on financial risk assessments.
Cost & Profitability Management
- Monitor operational expenses, payment processing costs, and acquisition costs.
- Evaluate vendor contracts and negotiate financial terms.
- Drive initiatives to improve unit economics and overall profitability.
Requirements
Must-Have
- 8+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting, in fintech, payments, or digital commerce, or any other app-based company is a must.
- Strong experience in accounting management, financial operations, and FP&A.
- Proven capability in handling high-volume transactions (GMV EGP 1.5B/year).
- Solid understanding of Egyptian accounting standards, taxation, and financial regulations.
- Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel/Sheets skills.
- Experience managing audits, closing cycles, and cross-functional financial workflows.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with ERP/financial systems and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Knowledge of digital wallets, payment ecosystems, and transactional flows.
- Certifications such as CMA, CPA, CFA are a plus.
