Job Description

Role: Financial Reporting Specialist (Oil & Gas)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
  • Perform and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing or reviewing tax filings (e.g., VAT, Corporate Tax) and liaising with external tax advisors when needed.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
  • Support cash flow management through accurate tracking of payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and alignment across business functions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • 35 years of accounting or Big 4 experience, with a solid understanding of general ledger, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Experience in tax compliance and reporting, including VAT and Corporate tax.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Tally, or similar ERP) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage month-end/year-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience supervising or leading team is advantage.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all financial and reporting tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
