We are recruiting an experienced and safety-focused
Fire Pump Technician to join our operations team in
Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the
installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire pump systems to ensure reliable fire water supply for buildings and industrial facilities.
This role requires strong
mechanical and electrical skills, hands-on experience with fire pump systems, knowledge of
NFPA standards and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and the ability to work closely with
projects, service, and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and connect diesel and electric fire pump sets, jockey pumps, controllers, baseplates, and associated equipment according to drawings and specifications.
- Perform commissioning and testing of fire pump systems including flow tests, pressure tests, and pump performance verification.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, couplings, valves, strainers, and control systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and carry out repairs, alignment, balancing, and troubleshooting.
- Inspect and test fire pump controllers, starters, automatic transfer switches, battery systems, and wiring.
- Maintain service reports, inspection records, maintenance checklists, and test certificates.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and service calls and provide quick troubleshooting at site.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code requirements.
- Follow health and safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and site safety regulations.
- Coordinate with service supervisors, project teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors for smooth maintenance operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong mechanical and practical skills for pump installation, disassembly, alignment, and maintenance.
- Basic electrical knowledge including motors, control panels, wiring, and instrumentation.
- Ability to conduct flow and pressure testing using diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges and multimeters.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE fire safety regulations.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Requirements
- Technical Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with fire pump systems or industrial pumps.
- Experience with diesel engine-driven pumps and electric motor-driven pumps.
- Knowledge of testing, commissioning, and maintenance procedures for fire protection systems.
- Valid UAE driving license is required.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
- Good command of English communication.
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
