About the Job

The Fitness Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fitness center, ensuring a safe, clean, and motivating environment for guests and members. The role includes supervising fitness staff, assisting guests with equipment usage, maintaining gym standards, and supporting wellness programs to enhance the overall guest experience.

About You

Operational Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the fitness center and ensure all facilities are functioning properly.
• Ensure the fitness area, equipment, and changing facilities are clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Monitor the proper use of gym equipment and guide guests when needed.
• Ensure all safety procedures and health regulations are followed.
• Conduct regular inspections of fitness equipment and coordinate maintenance when required.
• Guest Service
• Welcome guests and members to the fitness center and provide orientation on facilities and equipment.
• Assist guests with fitness inquiries and basic workout guidance.
• Promote a positive and motivating environment for guests.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.

Programs and Activities

• Assist in planning and coordinating fitness programs, group classes, and wellness initiatives.
• Promote fitness services and wellness activities to guests and members.
• Support special wellness events or promotional activities.
• Maintain records of equipment maintenance and fitness programs.
• Monitor inventory of gym supplies and report shortages.
• Assist in preparing reports related to gym usage, attendance, and activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Fitness, Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field.
• Certified Fitness Trainer / Personal Trainer preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in fitness or recreation operations, preferably in hospitality or a gym environment.
• Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.
• Team supervision
• Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise techniques
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to respond to emergencies and ensure safety
• Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred
