Role Description
800CarGuru is expanding rapidly across the UAE and is looking for a strong Fleet Operations Manager to lead and scale our recovery and roadside assistance operations. The Fleet Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day fleet operations, ensuring optimal performance, efficient resource allocation, and adherence to operational standards. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating maintenance schedules, managing fleet logistics, tracking operational metrics, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Collaboration with internal teams and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards are key aspects of this role.

Role Overview
The Fleet Operations Manager will take full ownership of:
- Recovery truck operations
- Roadside Assistance fleet performance
- Fleet utilization optimization
- Third-party recovery cost control
- Driver performance and training
- Fleet compliance, maintenance, and expansion planning
This role requires operational discipline, strong leadership, and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Utilization & Operations
- Maximize daily trips per owned recovery truck
- Design efficient rotation schedules (rota) for optimal utilization
- Reduce dependency on third-party recovery providers
- Ensure rapid response time for roadside assistance
- Monitor trip performance and operational KPIs daily
Third-Party Management
- Negotiate and manage third-party recovery vendors
- Control cost per trip
- Maintain service level compliance
- Ensure performance accountability
Fleet Maintenance & Compliance
- Oversee maintenance of all recovery trucks, roadside vans, and office vehicles
- Ensure vehicle fitness, renewals, insurance, and regulatory approvals
- Maintain NOCs and operational documentation
- Prevent downtime through proactive maintenance planning
Driver & Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and manage recovery and roadside assistance drivers
- Develop upselling capability among roadside drivers
- Manage supervisors and support staff
- Enforce discipline, performance monitoring, and reporting
Revenue & Commercial Support
- Support insurance recovery partnerships
- Ensure service quality for contracted partners
- Improve roadside upselling performance
- Contribute to expansion strategy across all Emirates
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Fleet Operations and Fleet Management
- Experience managing large fleets and multi-location teams
- Strong negotiation skills (vendor management)
- Operations Management and Analytical Skills to drive efficiency and ensure smooth workflows
- Proven Supervisory Skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance processes and regulatory compliance laws is advantageous
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Excellent organizational, planning and time-management skills
- Hands-on, execution-focused approach
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for fleet and operations management is a plus
