Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Execute and oversee complex foreign procurement operations to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of imported materials, spare parts, and equipment. Responsible for handling supplier negotiations, monitoring international shipments, and ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations. Supports the function by providing technical expertise and resolving escalated procurement issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and support the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of raw materials, spare parts, and machinery from overseas suppliers.
  • Evaluate and monitor international suppliers to ensure performance, quality, delivery reliability, and compliance with company standards.
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and provide recommendations for improvement or alternative sourcing options.
  • Contribute to risk mitigation by identifying backup suppliers and supporting supply continuity strategies.
  • Negotiate with international suppliers on pricing, Incoterms, warranties, and service agreements under the guidance of the Section Head.
  • Conduct cost analysis and support in developing cost-optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Finance on payment terms, Letters of Credit (LCs), and related financial documentation.
  • Monitor shipping schedules and liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Verify import documentation (Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading) for accuracy and compliance.
  • Follow up on customs clearance and proactively resolve issues related to shipment delays or discrepancies.
  • Support in minimizing logistics-related costs such as shipping, demurrage, and storage.
  • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, customs regulations, and international trade laws.
  • Stay informed on market trends, pricing, tariffs, and trade agreements affecting sourcing activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Planning teams to meet operational procurement requirements.
  • Provide technical input on material specifications and supplier capabilities when needed.
  • Support CAPEX projects by coordinating with vendors for technical equipment procurement.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data and records in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports (cost analysis, supplier delivery performance, savings tracking).

Job Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 35 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a strong background in international sourcing within manufacturing.
