Role Description

The Front Desk Representative is the first point of contact for customers and plays a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere. This role manages check-ins, memberships, sales, and caf support while ensuring customers receive friendly, efficient service and accurate information.

Roles & Responsibilities

Customer Service & Check Ins

  • Greet every customer warmly and professionally.
  • Manage check-ins, membership validations, and day pass sales.
  • Upsell memberships and packages.
  • Provide tours of the facility to new visitors.
  • Answer phone calls promptly.

Sales & Upselling

  • Actively promote memberships and Ascent Boss or other packages.
  • Ask every customer at check-in if they would like caf items.
  • Suggest upgrades (e.g., If you're climbing more than twice this week, a package saves you money).
  • Promote upcoming events, courses, and competitions.

Facility & Safety Awareness

  • Monitor climbing floor casually during shifts to spot unsafe behavior.
  • Ensure only belay-certified climbers use rope walls.
  • Report facility issues (e.g., broken lockers, dirty bathrooms) to Facility Manager.

Admin & Cash Handling

  • Reconcile cash/POS at the end of each shift.
  • Keep front desk organized and presentable.
  • Record all walk-in sales accurately.

Qualifications

  • Strong Phone Etiquette and proficiency in managing Receptionist Duties
  • Excellent Customer Service skills to provide a welcoming and supportive experience
  • Experience with handling Reservations and booking systems
  • Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with guests and staff
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks efficiently, and maintain a positive demeanor
  • Prior experience as a front desk representative or in a similar customer-facing role is beneficial
