We are looking for a passionate and skilled Web Developer to join our growing e-commerce team. You will contribute to the development of high-quality online storefronts and interactive experiences, focusing on performance, accessibility, and well-crafted execution. You'll work closely with a global team spanning different nationalities and disciplines, so fluency in Englishboth written and spokenis essential.
We are open to both freelance and permanent contracts for this position.
Role Responsibilities- Develop and maintain responsive e-commerce interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Implement UI components and page layouts that translate visual designs accurately.
- Build custom functionalities by integrating with APIs (REST and GraphQL) and third-party services.
- Optimize website speed, accessibility, and performance to ensure smooth user experiences.
- Apply SEO best practices within e-commerce platforms.
- Collaborate closely with designers to ensure consistent and high-quality execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues effectively.
- Contribute to code reviews and frontend development standards.
- Stay informed on emerging frontend and web development trends.
- Work with project managers to deliver projects on schedule and to a high standard.
Qualifications- 35 years of experience in web development, with experience delivering e-commerce or consumer-facing web experiences.
- (6+ years of total web development experience is a strong plus.)
- Strong understanding of modern frontend development practices, including templating and API integration (REST and GraphQL).
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Experience integrating third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, analytics tools).
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify experience is a strong plus, but not required).
- Proficient with Git and version control workflows, and comfortable working in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Highly Desired- Experience with Shopify theme or app development.
- Experience building headless e-commerce experiences.
- Experience with modern build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack).
- Experience working with TypeScript and type-safe development patterns.
- Experience with utility-first CSS approaches (e.g., TailwindCSS).
Nice to Have- Understanding of e-commerce UX and conversion optimization best practices.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- A portfolio showcasing live e-commerce work.
