Fuel Farm Operator

(Fuel Farm Operator / Pipeline Operator / Fuel Facility Operator)

The Fuel Farm Operator is the front-line operational role at the fuel farm, responsible for executing the day-to-day tasks associated with the safe receipt, storage, transfer, and distribution of aviation jet fuel (Jet A-1). This role forms the operational backbone of the fuel farm and works under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include receiving fuel deliveries via the pipeline from the upstream supply point (e.g., Saudi Aramco's North Riyadh Station) or via road tanker, operating tank inlet and outlet valves, monitoring tank levels and system pressures, performing routine fuel quality tests (water detection, density, appearance, and filter differential pressure checks) in accordance with ATA Spec. 103 and JIG procedures, and maintaining accurate fuel transaction records and operational logs. The Fuel Farm Operator also conducts daily walkaround inspections of the tank farm area, pump station, and hydrant pit access points to identify any abnormalities such as leaks, pressure irregularities, or unauthorised access.

This role operates on a rotating shift basis to support 24/7 continuous operations and must be prepared to respond promptly to alarms, system anomalies, or emergency situations. The Fuel Farm Operator is expected to maintain a thorough working knowledge of the facility's emergency shutdown procedures, spill response protocols, and fire safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma is preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in fuel handling, petroleum operations, or a related industrial environment. Familiarity with ATA Spec. 103, JIG operating standards, and airport safety regulations. Valid airport security clearance and a clean driving record required.
