Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with experience in a law firm environment to support daily financial operations. The ideal candidate will be familiar with legal billing procedures, trust accounting, and general accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts
- Handle client billing and ensure compliance with legal billing guidelines
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Support trust account (IOLTA) transactions and reconciliation
- Prepare and process invoices for legal services and track payments
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance
- Work with attorneys and administrative staff to track billable hours and expenses
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 13 years of accounting experience (law firm experience preferred)
- Familiarity with legal billing systems (e.g., Timeslips, Clio, or similar)
- Knowledge of trust accounting and legal financial regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
