Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the general ledger accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards. The General Ledger Lead coordinates month-end and year-end closing activities, supports financial reporting, and collaborates with internal teams and auditors to ensure the integrity of financial data.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accurate trial balances and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulatory requirements (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in ledger activities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors on general ledger matters.
  • Supervise and support junior accounting staff in ledger-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with finance functions such as AP, AR, and treasury to ensure cohesive financial operations

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in similar position.
