Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead a luxury 5-star hotel in Juba, South Sudan.

This is a flagship hospitality leadership opportunity for a commercially sharp, operationally strong, and highly visible hotel leader who can deliver excellence across every part of the guest journey.

About the Hotel

The property is a well-established luxury city hotel in Juba, offering a high-end guest experience across premium accommodation, multiple dining concepts, meetings and events facilities, wellness and leisure amenities, and corporate/VIP services. The hotel serves a mix of business travelers, diplomats, corporate guests, event clients, and international visitors, and requires a leader who can maintain luxury standards while driving commercial performance in a dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full strategic and operational leadership of the hotel
  • Drive performance across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Events, Spa/Leisure, Engineering, Security, Finance, Sales & Marketing, and HR
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional guest experience and consistent 5-star service standards
  • Lead revenue growth, profitability, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Build a high-performance culture with strong accountability, training, and team development
  • Strengthen the hotel's market position across corporate, government, diplomatic, airline, NGO, and events segments
  • Oversee quality assurance, brand/service standards, and operational compliance
  • Manage owner relations and provide clear commercial and operational reporting
  • Maintain excellent standards in health, safety, risk management, and property upkeep
  • Identify opportunities to improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, F&B performance, and event revenues
  • Lead from the front in a demanding environment requiring resilience, maturity, and sound judgment

Ideal Profile

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in luxury 5-star hotels, with proven tenure as General Manager in a 5-star property.
  • Strong background in luxury hospitality operations
  • Experience in internationally branded or European-standard luxury properties highly preferred
  • Proven success in driving financial performance, service excellence, and team leadership
  • Strong exposure to multi-outlet F&B, banqueting/events, and VIP guest handling
  • Experience in Africa, remote locations, or complex/emerging markets is a strong advantage
  • Highly adaptable, culturally aware, and comfortable leading multicultural teams
  • Fluent English essential; additional languages are an advantage

This role is suited to a hands-on hotel leader who combines commercial discipline, operational depth, and executive presence.
