The Global Sales Director – Consumer is responsible for driving subscriber growth, revenue, and market share across multiple international markets. This role leads the end-to-end retail sales strategy, covering Direct & indirect distribution, with a strong focus on customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a global consumer (B2C) sales strategy across all operating markets
- Drive subscriber growth, ARPU, and market share in highly competitive environments
- Optimise channel mix across owned retail stores, Major retailers and partner distribution
- Lead seasonal and promotional campaigns to maximise commercial performance
Channel Management
- Oversee performance of:
- Retail stores (owned and franchise)
- Dealer / distributor networks
- Online and digital sales platforms
- Define channel targets, incentives, and performance frameworks
- Enhance omnichannel customer experience and conversion rates
Customer Acquisition & Retention
- Drive customer growth through innovative acquisition strategies
- Partner with Marketing and CVM teams to improve:
- Customer onboarding
- Retention and churn reduction
- Upsell / cross-sell initiatives
- Leverage data and analytics to optimise customer lifetime value (CLV)
Commercial Performance & P&L Ownership
- Own global retail sales P&L, forecasting, and revenue delivery
- Monitor KPIs such as:
- Gross adds / net adds
- ARPU
- Churn
- Conversion rates
- Implement pricing and promotional strategies aligned with market dynamics
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop high-performing regional sales leaders and in-country teams
- Build a performance-driven culture with clear accountability and KPIs
- Drive capability building across retail and digital sales functions
Digital & Transformation Focus
- Accelerate growth in sales channels
- Champion CRM, AI-driven sales tools, and data-led decision making
- Support digital transformation initiatives across customer journeys
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with:
- Marketing
- Customer Value Management (CVM)
- Product & Pricing
- Network & Customer Experience teams
- Engage with executive leadership on performance, strategy, and expansion plans
Key Requirements
- 12–18+ years experience in telecom, with a strong focus on consumer / retail sales (B2C)
- Proven success driving subscriber growth and revenue in multi-market environments
- Strong experience managing retail stores, distribution networks, and digital channels
- Deep understanding of telecom products (mobile, data, prepaid/postpaid, bundles, devices)
