Chief Accountant

Location: 5-Star Luxury Resort | Sealine, Thakira (Accommodation in the resort premises).

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant for a prestigious 5-star resort located on the outskirts of Doha. This role is resort-based, requiring the successful candidate to be stationed on-site to effectively manage financial operations. The position combines accounting, payroll, purchasing, and inventory management functions, ensuring strong financial control and operational efficiency across the resort.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Control

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, general ledger, and month-end/year-end closing.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts in line with hospitality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Qatar laws, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and management.

Payroll & Staff Cost Management

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Manage employee benefits, deductions, and payroll reconciliations.
  • Monitor staff costs and provide analysis to management.

Purchasing & Inventory

  • Oversee purchasing activities, vendor coordination, and cost controls.
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, and valuation.
  • Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and internal controls for procurement.

Leadership & Reporting

  • Supervise and guide accounting and store teams.
  • Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with department heads to control costs and optimize profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
  • Minimum 58 years of experience, preferably in 5-star hotels or luxury resorts.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality accounting systems, payroll, and inventory controls.
  • Ability to work independently in a resort-based (on-site) role.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
