Job Summary:
The Gym Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all fitness equipment within the gym, ensuring a safe and functional environment for members. This includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, performing repairs, and maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. You may be asked to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as required to meet business needs. You must be prepared to travel to all locations within Kuwait to oversee the maintenance requirements for all our facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections of all fitness equipment (cardio machines, strength training equipment, free weights, etc.) to identify potential issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and replacing worn parts.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Perform repairs on fitness equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Order and manage spare parts inventory.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely and effectively.
- Safety Inspections:
- Conduct regular safety inspections of all fitness areas to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements
- Track equipment maintenance history and identify trends.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with other facility maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Stay up-to-date on new fitness equipment and maintenance techniques.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanics or electronics preferred.
- Certifications related to fitness equipment maintenance or repair is an advantage.
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing fitness equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
