Job Role
The Manager - Civil & Structural will lead and manage all civil and structural engineering aspects of high-rise building projects within the real estate and construction industry in the UAE. This role is critical to ensuring the successful design, development, and execution of complex infrastructure projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership & Management: Lead the civil and structural engineering team for high-rise building projects from inception to completion. Ensure the delivery of projects on time, within budget, and meeting all technical specifications and quality standards.
- Design Management: Oversee and review design concepts, engineering drawings, and specifications for civil and structural components of high-rise buildings, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, local codes, and international standards.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure that all civil and structural requirements are incorporated into project plans and execution.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise and resolve complex engineering challenges related to foundations, structural systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks or issues related to structural integrity, safety, and project timelines. Proactively mitigate risks and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor construction quality, ensuring that structural works are executed to the highest standards, conforming to regulatory, safety, and client requirements.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage project costs and resources related to civil and structural engineering activities. Review and approve budgets, procurement, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency.
- Construction Supervision: Supervise and inspect construction work, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, quality standards, and timelines. Conduct regular site visits and audits.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure that all civil and structural work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Provide regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Team Development: Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring high standards of work.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer) is a plus.Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with at least 5 years in the UAE high-rise real estate and construction industry.
- Technical Skills:Expertise in the design, analysis, and construction of high-rise buildings, including foundation systems, structural frames, and advanced materials.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Revit).
- In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes, standards, and construction practices.
- Leadership & Communication:Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus), both written and verbal.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale high-rise projects, with a strong understanding of project lifecycle, risk management, and budget control.
